Autumn Term Science – Electricity Year 6

In our science lessons we began by asking the children how many appliances in their house use electricity and what they already knew about electricity. We then discussed how it links to the Victorians through Thomas Edison. We looked at different circuits and predicted if they would work and why.

Children then had to test their prediction by building the circuit in pairs/groups before feeding back and writing conclusions. After this, children worked in small groups to carry out 3 different investigations to find out how we can make a bulb brighter. These were - number of outputs, amount of power and the length of wires.
