Autumn Term 1 Beamish Year 6

As part of our Victorian topic, we visited Beamish Open Air Museum. This gave us the opportunity to experience what life was actually like during Victorian times. We visited a pit village and a typical street from the 1900’s – the shops were nothing like Morrisons! We experienced what it would be like to be a child in a Victorian school by having a Victorian lesson where we were taught the 3R’s – Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. It was quite tricky to do neat handwriting using a quill pen and ink.
